A slow drain is a warning. A backed up main line is the bill that warning was trying to prevent. Pace has been clearing Houston drains since 1955, and the pipe under a Third Ward bungalow behaves nothing like the pipe under a new build. Seventy years on the same streets is how you learn the difference.

We put a camera down before we quote a repair

A clog and a collapsed line feel identical from your kitchen sink. They cost nothing alike to fix. Pace runs a camera down the line so the problem shows up on a screen: a grease clog, a root intrusion at a joint, a bellied section, or a break. You see it too. Then you get a recommendation based on what is actually in the pipe, not on what pays best.

Roots are the Houston problem

Third Ward, Riverside Terrace and Montrose are full of mature oaks growing over clay pipe laid decades ago. Roots find the joints, and the clog comes back on a schedule. Cutting them out buys time. A camera inspection tells you whether you are buying a year or buying five, and whether a spot repair or a line replacement is the honest answer.

Call us when you notice

  • Drains slowing down across more than one fixture
  • A clog that keeps coming back in the same spot
  • Gurgling from a toilet when the washer or tub drains
  • Sewer odor inside the house or around the cleanout
  • Water backing up into a tub or shower

Questions we get about drain & sewer

What causes a drain to clog over and over?
Usually something structural rather than something you put down the drain. Tree roots at a pipe joint, a bellied section holding water, or a partial break will all re-clog on a cycle no matter how many times the line is snaked. A camera inspection is how you find out which one you have.
Do you camera inspect the sewer line?
Yes. On main line and recurring clog calls we run a camera so you can see the condition of the pipe before deciding on a repair.
Can you come out the same day?
Often, depending on the day and the schedule. Call 713-659-7669 and the office will tell you honestly what is open. We answer the phone Monday through Saturday, 8 to 5.
Is there a charge to come out?
There is a diagnostic charge for the visit, and it is credited toward the repair if you have us do the work. You get the price before anything starts.
